Privacy Policy
How we handle your information when you get a quote, make a booking, or get in touch.
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Newy Rubbish Removal ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, or book a service.
2. What Personal Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Your name, address, phone number, and email address
Details about the rubbish removal job (type and approximate amount of rubbish, and photos if you choose to provide them)
Booking details, including your preferred date and time
Payment card details, which are collected and stored directly by Stripe (see clause 5 — we do not store your full card details ourselves)
Any information you provide when contacting us directly, such as through our contact form, phone, or email
3. How We Collect Your Information
We collect personal information when you:
Fill out a booking form through our website (powered by Squarespace Scheduling/Acuity)
Submit an enquiry through our contact form
Contact us directly by phone or email
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
Provide and manage your booking, including confirming your job and communicating about arrival times
Process payment for completed jobs via Stripe
Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
Meet our legal and accounting obligations (for example, retaining invoices for tax purposes)
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
5. Payment Information and Stripe
When you book online, your card details are entered directly into Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor. Stripe processes and stores your full card details on their own secure systems — we do not receive, see, or store your complete card number on our own systems at any point. Your card is held to confirm your booking and is charged only after your job is complete and the final price has been confirmed with you.
Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by their own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to run our business, each of which may collect or process your personal information on our behalf:
Stripe — payment processing (see clause 5)
Squarespace Scheduling (Acuity) — booking and appointment management
Squarespace — website hosting
Some of these providers may store or process your information on servers located outside Australia. By providing your personal information, you consent to this information being disclosed and stored overseas as part of the normal operation of these services.
7. Cookies
Our website, hosted on Squarespace, uses cookies to support core site functionality and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how the site functions.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe under their own security standards, not stored or secured by us directly.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain booking and invoice records for as long as required to meet our accounting and tax obligations.
10. Accessing and Correcting Your Information
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details in clause 14.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
12. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults booking rubbish removal services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
